Nigeria has articulated some of the most detailed climate and energy transition frameworks in Africa. The country's Energy Transition Plan (ETP) is aligned with its commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by the year 2060. The plan formally commits the nation to this long-term environmental goal.

In a separate development in Lagos, the Lagos Gallery Weekend (LGW) has announced the 3rd edition of its citywide celebration of contemporary art. The announcement was made at a press conference held in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The art event, themed 'Art for All,' is scheduled to run from March 5 to 8, 2026. It will feature twenty art galleries and is held in collaboration with the +234 Art Fair. Sunshine Alaibe is the Director of Lagos Gallery Weekend.

These announcements highlight two distinct areas of national activity: long-term strategic planning for energy and climate, and the promotion of cultural events in the nation's commercial capital.
